Now but five or ten years from now...:dunno:

Very nice! A few years ago, I bought a couple of ASAT tributes from @Pop1655. They are ridiculously nice and fun to play. And their price point is wonderful. That started me on the road of G&L and checking out a bunch of their line. Very addictive. A Les Paul is still completely my favorite, but these really pulled me in. I have a swamp ash Legacy with maple neck like above and it is really incredible to play. So I understand what you're saying. :thumb: The only thing I didn't like was not really having many around in stores to try some of the different models.

I've never seen a new one at GC although they carry both import and USA online. G&L is switching from swamp ash to sassafras so I'm more inclined to not wait as I really like my ASAT.

I'd have to check my S500, and make the assumption that current bodies are the same, but I believe G&L uses the "swimming pool" pickup cavity routing.

They may, now that BBE is making them. But the original Leo Fender Guitars did not.
Played G&L's almost exclusively from 1980 My G&L F-100's to S-500's I got off the wall in Dale Hyatt's office. to the original Interceptor body'd Comanche VI. Man that was a nice guitar.
I now only have one 1987 G&L ASAT III prototype left.
One Les Paul, One 61RI SG (currently on the block) My heavily modified MIM 2000 Stratocaster. Like new.
A 1980's Precision Special Walnut Bass.
Amps are going by the wayside too. Twin Reverb gone, 4104 vertical input JCM 800 combo gone, AC 30 gone
2204 gone.

I have 17 guitars. 7 are Gibsons, 3 are Les Pauls. I need more Les Pauls.
Def, 17 is the # me too. What do I LUST for? Black Tele or Black Sg, in reality, I need NOTHING-all my guitars are PERFECT- all unique.

Gibby- 74 Black Custom, 80 STD FEZZBURST, 86 Sg '61,and 2008 LP Special

Les Pauls get very little play, I slung them EXCLUSIVELY for decades. I'll use them in studio.I use ALL my guitars-last album I used 8 guitars! Why not? ART is about diversity.

I'm on the wait list. I expect to sell some (Tele) stuff when my DSG comes in too. :laugh2:
Won't be selling anything because of the DSG.

Part of that reason is that I only have a few that really have any value... the three Gibsons, two mid-90s (3-bolt) G&Ls, and a 2017 American Special Strat (low end US model, effectively a 70s reissue as far as features).
The rest are either Partscasters, Epiphones, or other assorted imports. One of my Taylors is a 300 series, the other is an import.

The Harley Benton and Epiphone SG will likely be donated to a music school once all of the BS is overwith, though the SG need a little work.

I'm probably around 14 or 15 electrics right now, 4 acoustics, one bass.

Two but their time might be running out.

A $299 SDOTD from a couple years back is to blame. Going through a Champ with verb or dirty/compressed AC30 I'm in heaven. I spent a few hours last night in my music room mowing down classic rock and blues tunes which is something I haven't done in a long time. Inspired is a good thing.

More swamp ash maple neck single coil fun has been calling me and if this happens my Lester count will drop.

Getting a little Jerry Cantrell vibe from the double cut...

I’m up to a total of 5 carved top Les Pauls, only one of which is a Gibson just now.

I have four Gibson guitars... a 2010 LP Trad, a 2011 SG Standard, a 2010 ES-335, and a 2011 ES-339.

I love the first three and they are stone KEEPERS... but that ES-339 is by no means a favorite, though it was kind of like my "baby guitar" and I did play the shit out of it for a few years. But somehow, we just kinda drifted apart...

Guess I could live without it. Probably ought to sell it. But damn, what a PITA selling a guitar looks to be!

The other five electrics? I have a Stratocaster and a Telecaster that I've got to hang onto. But really, I should just sell the others. I never play 'em.

But again: what a nuisance selling a guitar appears to be... and shit, man: I don't really need the money... so...

I just moved some gear on for the first time in a few years and it feels great knowing it’s going to a new home. I found a local store with a killer consignment policy.
It was by far the best decision for me since they were aggressive with their pricing on my behalf and I don’t deal with any tire kickers or story tellers.

Well worth their 15% especially seeing as they’re asking considerably more for the stuff than I would have.

If everything goes in a timely fashion I’m walking out with a well used but killer R8.

For stuff that was collecting dust.

If the R8 sells or whatever, I’m getting a nice check and I’ll probably score a few more Japanese imports, maybe get something to show off in the rate of twist thread…

Life’s short, play lots of guitars.

After my experience with the snobs on a Fender based site years ago I'd rather hang here if I had 100 Strats and no LP's.
