All this talk and all these photos finally got to me. I kept watching, and GC and musicians friend showed them in stock yesterday for a very short while. I pulled the trigger, and got an order confirmation. Later in the evening, they both showed backordered again. I fully anticipate that they’re going to contact me any minute and tell me they don’t actually have it, they did that to me with the 1959.

Or they will ship you a returned guitar as new.

I tried to order through SamAsh, they were out. I went to Joe B’s site and he still had them in stock.

EDIT: when I went back to Joes website, I did notice the following:

An exclusive, woven guitar strap with Joe Bonamassa embossed logo in gold will be included with any Lazarus purchased on Joe Bonamassa's online store.

But you're also paying $100 shipping from Joe's site.

Actually this was about $5 cheaper than my order from Sam Ash and Sam Ash wasn’t giving out straps :naughty:

I haven’t seen any other places that have them in stock that aren’t the upcharged Reverb gouge pricing.

Under a grand and if I don’t like it I can sell it on reverb for a profit. Like I did with the Jared James Gold Glory I had. I don’t mind paying full price for new knowing if I don’t like it I can dump it pretty quick and get the second guitar I had in mind.

I doubt if anybody really knew how many of one model Epiphone ever made.

"On request" at Thomann. Looks like most of the bigger stores sold all first batches and maybe they have an option to order more. Not sure how many will be made. Do you know?

Another thing: I'm happy with the graphtech nut as it's leveled pretty good. But the white is just not looking right with the creme binding for me. I think a bone nut would match much better.
These are all very limited runs.
Last year, the assumption was that the first batch of Black Beauties was the only batch, and when a forum member called Joe's office, he was told that "as far as they knew" Epiphone was not doing another run.
Some 4 or 5 months later, more showed up in Europe... but these could have been part of an original shipment that was delayed or assumed lost?

Well, I went back later in the day and placed an order for some strings. I already got shipping confirmation on the strings, nothing on the guitar. I know they don’t actually have it. They did the same thing with the 1959, showed it in stock when they didn’t have it. On that one, I called to cancel, and the guy acted like I was an impatient asshole.

I hope you get it, but I had a few backordered MF purchases in the past which never shipped, they cancelled them eventually.

I ordered a Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Figured Top Orange Widow Burst from GC for 5k and was assured it was on it's way. After two weeks I finally got ahold of the right person who stated they couldn't find it, it was not where it was supposed to be. Anyway, they had my 5k for two weeks for a guitar they did not actually have, that inventory said they had. That was a 1 of 10 guitar that probably walked out the door, an employee probably 5 finger discounted it. haha

I ended up getting a nice discount on the Yellow Widow Burst they did have in stock, which was a great guitar I had for a few years.

Same here, the only instance when I paid full price + shipping was at Joe Bonamassa's store. Lazarus with custom inlay with $70 shipping is my most expensive Epiphone ever.
Did you get the one from the JB store? How long did it take to ship??
