ZZ Top is a band I wanted to see in the 70s-80s but never got to. Here is a pretty good concert of them playing most of their hits before MTV and fuzzy guitars. I think Billy is playing one of his signature Les Pauls since it's condition looks alittle too good to be Pearly Gates.

Great! I love their old records :)
To me their last great album is Degüello. The rest sound more like metal ballads, but of course that was very popular in the early 80s, so I guess it was a clever move from a business point of view.

Rockpalast '80 is probably the best show I've seen of them on video. I saw them in 2007 with the Stray Cats, and they sounded great. Long show too, you forget how many great songs they have until they're blasting them out one after the other

They play almost every song from Degüello on this DVD.

I love the Billy Gibbons of old . I guess I am just old .. I stopped purchasing anything when ZZ Top went Mainstream Computerized . “Rio Grande Mud “ was my all time favorite ZZ Top Album ... Chevrolet and Francine and Sure Got Cold were classics to me . The record company bastardized his playing on the Greatest hits album .. Its all about the computers then. Seems like every time I see Billy live on tv . He is playing “Lagrange “ MAn I cant turn that off fast enough .. I long for the Billy G of old .
