I think Zakk has lost something over the years, but I was shocked the first time I heard him. Crazy Babies I think....love the crunchy power chords. I thought the solo on No More Tears was fantastic.

I saw him early on with Ozzy too. His solo made my jaw drop and I couldn't close it for the rest of the show.

I love how he uses Bridge Of Sighs in his solo, too: pays homage to one of the masters. He's very respectful and appreciative of Rhoads, Iommi, Skynyrd, etc... Unreal skill.

I like Zakk Wylde. Always will.

His work on Book of Shadows and Pride and Glory is staggering. BLS is kinda hit and miss but there are some jaw dropping guitar moments that are not related to PH's. Take the solo on Blood is Thicker Than Water. Reminds me of Page on crack.

Probably my biggest influence. His acoustic stuff, is mind blowing, he can play just as fast with the gain off, and puts real feeling into it. Take book of shadows, brilliant.

Although I love his music from his debut on Ozzy's No rest of the wicked till his 2nd BLS album (Stronger than death), since then he's been doing nothing I can enjoy anymore. Just the same old story about being drunk, bla bla bla.

I'll put both Pride n' Glory and Book of Shadows on repeat now and remember how great he once was.

I honestly think that this separation is going to be good for both.
And soon they'll be together again.

I'm a huge Zakk fan! I think he's gotten into a rut though, he's doing the same shit over and over again.. some of his solo's are just not good. I wish he'd go back and get that soul from Pride and Glory and Book of Shadows back, I mean that stuff was just amazing! The early BLS stuff was just awesome! I think he needs a break, I think he needs to find that soul again... I'll support him, no matter what because I think he's a good dude too, and all the people I know that know him and have met him say the guy is like no other! He'll treat you like your family, and talk to you like your family even though you've never met him before. He's a good dude.. Crazy and fun with a good heart..
When I saw him, he played the Buzz Saw, the Black BLS LP (My favorite next to the grail), the double neck SG, and the GD.

Ozzy has already fired him and went with Gus-G. Hopefully Zakk NEVER goes back to helping Ozzy limp along again.

This is a good thing since now Zakk can concentrate on his own thing without distractions.
