I use D'Addario strings, myself, they sound great, last a long time, and are affordable. I own a small guitar repair shop, and I recommend these strings to all my customers, and they all agree that D'Addario's are great. I use them on all of my clients' guitars, and I have yet to hear a complaint. You can spend a lot more on a set of strings if you want, but to MY ears the D'Addario's are fine.

Don't go for the hype. Most strings are all pretty good. I like GHS personally. They may noy be the best, but they are the best for me.

IMO

the only strings that I have found that add "something" to the sound of my LP are Thomastik Infeld JAzz bebops.
The rest sounded very much the same on the LP....

Don't bother with the Zakk strings. They are ridiculously huge and you'll have to adjust your truss rod to keep the action good.

If you want GREAT strings, I suggest the pure nickel D'Addario's in 11's. Great value and amazing feel, with that pure nickel tone.

I tried the Dunlop's 'Zakk' strings but they were too slack (string tension) so I use D'addario now. (same gauge)

Yea his 10-56 set... They just sound like boomers, except more expensive because they have his name on em.

Feels like boomers too... If you like that feel, thats a good thing. I don't personally. Too 'tight'.

No one else (beside Robster) think that this was a tool remark? By the way, I have to give you some credit, you did spell two words correct in that sentence. :thumb:

Just read it...beyond a tool remark. If your using 'stock' strings, you've already failed.

Here is a hint...if you ask a question about strings...try using the 'search' feature. Already many threads dedicated to strings.

I tried the GHS Boomers 10-46 on my Les Paul and they were really good, especially when it coms to intonation:)
The negative side of them is that they die out in a few weeks in my opinion but oterwise great strings.

Many people seem to like D´addario i don´t...
I´ve tried a few set´s but when breaking them in by bending like hell they won´t hold for it, the break:(
So no more D´addario for me anymore, they don´t work just gives me problem.
Same with the Elixir the break as well when i do real crazy bends like Stevie Ray Vaughan does.

Still it´s all a mather of taste and what works best for you.
My advice; Try them all and then you have the answer:)
