It's great that anyone can post videos to YouTube and it's also cool that news outlets post videos to either YouTube or their own web sites. There is a lot of creative and funny stuff out there.
What is annoying is that it's become quite apparent that a lot of people (I made up that guesstimate based on my own internet experiences) seem to believe that video on a computer is still novel and prefer to use video links over written articles when it comes to news or simply both being available (CNN - I'm talking to you as well as this board!). Sometimes, only video is available because whatever it is has never been published to text. Other times, there is a choice...
I skip over the videos posted here for the most part unless it's a music video that interests me. But, when it comes to news, there is so much shit out there on the web that I simply do not care to spend the time waiting for some video to get to whatever the point is when I could have more easily quickly scanned through an article.
If there is a choice between a video and an article, post the article or, at least, post it along with the video or type up some sort of synapses. Either way, quit wasting my time and your time by posting a video that I have to endure just to garner what adds up to 10 seconds of useful information.
