Here's a Greco that's on sale around here.

It's a bolted-neck Les Paul, so...

But it's a Greco. The seller says the serial number is: 8 7171. So do you think think this guitar might have been made before 1982?

It sells for 500 US$. Is it worth it? Why?

Not only a bolt on, but it looks like it has some pretty good neck damage, too. That a nice big crack right where the neck sits into the body?

Your friend is ill advised to spend $500 on this bolt on. It's pretty. But it's also damaged, and it's rather low-quality, in my opinion. $500 can get you something far better with just as much "mojo."

I think thats called a bolt through Tenon rather than bolt on
One through the back a usually two through the tenon,its also quite common for the owners to glue the neck in.
Maybe somebody tried removing the neck after it had been glued ,cracking the join,which could men unseen damage underneth
