Looking to identify exactly what year this guitar is and if it and all its parts seem original.
(Cannot upload more photos as “the server” can’t handle it. Can anyone help with that?)
The pickups do not have any markings on the underside and look a bit new for an early 80’s model. It was sold as a 1979 SL, which I’m sure it’s not.
Standard length neck tennon.
Does not have push/pull volume/tone controls.
Weighs over 11 Lbs.
Seems to have a solid mahogany body.
Thanks.

Well it has the Gibson open book headstock. They only had that for a few years. It seems to have a rw fretboard so that can narrow it down a bit... do the pots have any codes on them ?

The fretboard looks like it’s ebony when your close up to it. The photo doesn’t show that very well sorry.
On the pots:

Nice looking axe! If the images are too big you can send them to an online image compressor and make the file size small enough for the server to handle and then download them back to your pc resized.

Maybe a Lord Player 1000 Custom? I think those were only made in 79, and the rest of the LP series came later. I have a 77 SL800.

Actually, I think it’s a LP800, made from 84-86.
From what I can see I think the 800 would have a maple cap. This appears to be solid mahogany.
