I had been training about nonstop since 00, but in June with some bs at home I lost my workout mojo.

My wife and me used to get up about 345 am drive to the gym w.o and be home by 530 am. I would work then go to the boxing gym at night.

Gas started going ballistic so I had to stop taking 2 trips plus membership fees. 7 days per week it would be an additional 392 miles and almost and an additional $100.

I continued training at home crossfit, p90x, boxing training at home everyday for another year or so. Then just stopped.

I need to get back into shape, but for some reason up until now I havent got my lazy ass back to work. I love it, but I can seem to get all turned up on training like I used to, even know now I have too.

What is up with this? How do I break back into it?

I bang my woman 3x's a day and all day on the weekends!:thumb:

This routine will result in two things: getting in great shape, having a content woman who leaves you the hell alone(win/win) or... she'll get spoiled real quick and will never shut up about how well your banging her, then you'll want to get out of the house anyway so why not go to the gym?

When in doubt HempLogic works every time!:thumb:

we are 2 time couple, twice per day whether i need it or not.

I just dont think that it is bringing up my dead hang pullups or lowering my 3 mi run time by much...still fun though:laugh2:

in the past 16 years i've missed a grand total of 4 weeks of gym time. i CANNOT miss.

i think you just need to get back in there. it's depressing not being able to do what you used to be able to do, but you gotta just push yourself.

i tore my pec in february '08 and i still only do about half the reps at each weight that i used to get before the injury, and it's ridiculously depressing, but i can't stop.

Yeah I hear ya, and I would like to go back to the gym and not my basement, even know the best shape I had been in was training in my basement. I wasnt as big but I was ripped

Torn pec out, was that doing flat bench? I took flat bench out of my w.o years ago, inclines declines, and various weighted pushups.

Training at home I dont even use that much weight heaviest is probably when I am doing rows and that is 255 and 4 plates doing a modified one arm corner row

yeah, i think it's easier to put it off if you're doing it at home. if you go to the gym then you're forced into the environment.

I just go for maintenance. I used to be a gym rat but I lost the fire too. I guess when you're single there is an added motivation. I still go at least twice a week and I don't have any dreams of being a bodybuilder at 50. Thinking about my own mortality helps to keep me motivated. Can't do much if you're dead.

F- flat bench  Any shoulder trouble I have ever had from the gym was doing flat bench.

dude. i can't stop. i'm like a crackhead for flat bench. i know that it's bad news for stuff like that, and my pec still hurts where it tore EVERY time i do it, but i HAVE to flat bench.

Try this... this worked for me once

Try to force yourself to go to the gym or workout just once this week... just once... it may kick your brain back into gear or give you that euphoric feeling to see what you've been missing this whole time... who knows... it may put you on a guilt trip and you'll start visiting the gym again... you don't even need to plan it... just spontaneously do some laps or do some reps...

Right now I'm in the same boat too... I have so many other commitments it's easy to make excuses... I'm really trying to light a fire under my own ass so it's great to see threads like these...

Put a 75 lb weight vest on and do pushups. Do them where you go as fast as you can for 20 secs, 10 secs rest. Do it until you cant do anymore then drop to your knees and do more.....say good bye to flat bench, my chest got bigger when I started doing these and pullups (weighted)

went from 44 in the chest to 47 in about a year

I have been battling injuries since august of 08. It sucks.
All it takes is one look at myself in a mirror and I am ready to pump iron/run etc.
Just knowing that I what kind of weights I was able to do prior to August of 2008 compared to now is motivation enough for me. But, hey you're thinking about it, which is only a (small) step from doing it.

I used to be that way with deadlifts, I do understand where you are coming from :thumb:

Did you fullfill your duty and perform chest today? It is Monday after all:laugh2:

I used to hate that at the gym Monday Chest...I would do legs just to spite everyone:laugh2: and tie up a bench doing step up lunges

^^+1 I always do legs on Monday. Beats the "bench and curl" crowd.
