I´m so excited I can´t really think straight. My buddy in England has secured me access to his mates private lumber yard and I get a few days digging around for some Korina and Mahogany. He also has 160 2" thick boards of Korina coming in tomorrow morning so it´s going to be Christmas time all over again. So I´m driving the station wagon down there, it´s only 3400 KM back and forth and plan on getting as much as I can. There is some guy coming down there in a few weeks to pick up a load of Korina squares and is going to make furniture from it so I better move quickly. Wish me luck!

Only 3400 km?

Hell, why not make 2 or 3 trips ;-)

good luck, now go!!!!!

It´s T - 4 Hours & 20 Min. If I jump start I´ll just be sitting on the docks waiting for the ferry. Wife is trying to make me go to bed to get at least few hours of sleep but I never sleep before I travel, I always get so excited.

In for penny, in for a pound. No screaming kids or a wife, 3400km is easy!

You do realize that they drink warm beer and drive on the wrong side of the road in England...?
Have a nice trip :thumb:

That´s what I´ve been trying to get my mate over there to understand. He doesn´t wanna hear any of it. It´s been 9 years since I´ve driven in the UK so it´s gonna be interesting to see if I crash the damn car or not. You really do focus on all the wrong things by instinct when switching over. The roundabouts are a particular pain in the ass.

So if anyone need some XL sized blanks Mahogany blanks for Explorers you can send me a msg. My mate has loads in XL sizes and I might even have tracked down some old growth S-American XL piece that is 133" long and 23" wide and 2.5" thick.

I wonder how far 3400 km's is anyway? No....I will not "google it" either. Sheesh.

Good luck, take your time, and get more than you need! Always the best advice for anything
involving building guitars and especially applicable to materials.

Rush fans will appreciate that 3400 km = 2112 miles :)
