We Buy Guitars is no longer around. One of the partners retired a few years back. The other partner created Well Strung Guitars which is by far the worlds most amazing vintage guitar shoppe.

Jimmy Wallace was there as well as Larry Wexler.

I was digging this 1991 Fender “Texas Special” Telecaster in Gretsch Orange.
1 of 60 made.

Im sorry I’m not in the area anymore. Maybe I’ll make a weekend out of the fall show. But certainly not to buy at those prices!

Prices were just stupid high for the most part. Wallace was the only one who I saw selling, that was reasonable.

Was my first time to that kind of show in the US.

I perceived as more of a flea market with a crappy food stand with no prices. Not impressed.

I'll never understand why guys schlep their gear across states in trailers, just to overprice it all, and then schlep it all back home.

They’re there to buy. Selling something is a plus.

What 99.9% of the members don't see is Friday,
"Dealer Day". On Friday, nearly all of the reasonably
priced Gems are horse-traded between the Dealers,
and buyers from all over the world. Japan, England,
Germany, South Africa, and more. When the doors
open on Saturday, all of those really nice, well priced
guitars are either packed up, and on their way out of
the country, or on display for 50 to 75% more than they
were yesterday. If you see a nice guitar, with an

outrageous price. That means the Dealer doesn't really
want to sell it. They probably already have a buyer
lined up to buy it. Like Victor said, for most, this a buying
opportunity.
