HI thought i' ll post a thread and ask you guys your opinions on wolfetone legends vs dr vintages, read a few posts about both and came to the conclusion that they are much similar sounding pups, but that the dr vintages are a bit brighter sounding pups!and could be bright sounding in a paul that is a tad too bright to begin with, especiallly given the weight of the guitar!
I am thinking of replacing the pups in my k orville which is a damned heavy paul 4.2kilo.
It has a 4 piece body and 3 piece top, but boy it sustains for days, weighs more than my orville by gibson paul and sounds alot thicker and woody than my obg.
However the pickups are the weak link, also got some new cts pots, mojotones caps ,swchcraft toggle to replace the crappy small 14mm pots that are in it.so thought as i am rewiring it i might as well get a decent set of pups with proper braided shielded wire as well.
WOLFETONE AT THE MOMENT has reduced the prices on his pups to make them very tempting ,very tempting:hmm:
I prefer the sound of the legends!
Your input would be very welcome?

Nothing wrong with asking for opinions here, but you can also email the man himself. Wolfe can walk you through the differences and help you decide.

I have some Dr. V's and love them, not too bright, and you can always have him flavour a pup to your liking. Just give him a call.
