Don't get me wrong, I am glad that platform is going away. They all should go away.

But, it does bear saying that free speech should be universally free, not only the speech some find acceptable.

I agree for the most part with this and what @PeteK said in post 20. The difference here is that in the "public square" there were consequences for your free speech. Until we can, and do hold people responsible for their free speech, the shit show will continue.

That's a separate problem, that needs a solution.

But, either speech is free, or it is not free. It cannot be subject to the whims of people who do not like the message.

Facebook is filled with false ads, polls, statements and other shit designed to slowly erode the American people’s confidence in each other and it’s destroying their individuality

Society as a whole has become dependent on others for their opinions of self that they take pics of themselves daily in some cunty pose and post it publicly for clicks and likes.

It's like they use the argument that the "public" got too big, so now we have to intervene. Would we still have had a 1a if the public during the founding fathers time were able to speak instantly to billions of people? I'm not so sure the answer is yes. I'm not advocating to change it, but it is definitely a different scenario than what existed a couple hundred years ago.

The CCP has no constitutionally protected rights in the USA. Tik Tok users weren’t punished or silenced, they can share themselves on any number of apps that aren’t owned by the CCP. This has nothing to do with free speech.
