Just a question to inspire a conversation. I really enjoyed some of the models that were produced, and not all were Les Pauls.

What models would you be interested in if the Custom Shop were inspired to commit to another run?

Does anyone know if there is a future project in the works?

Has the interest in these finally faded?

For me personally i really would love to see a couple SGs make a run.......

I doubt it. I think sales were so stale towards the end, they had to “repurpose” some guitars that started out as CCs as regular R8s and R9s. That being said, I would love to see another Pearly Gates and Michael Bloomfield run. I think the initial runs of those signature models would be awesome in a CC application.

Agreed. And it brings up the most important point which, to me, was that they lost credibility by making so many different ones - many of which nobody had ever heard of.

That said, and agreed to, the CCs are the best of the best IMHO.

I have yet to find off the shelf reissues that can compare favorably to the CCs I've had in hand.

Granted the differences are small. Yet they are notable and do impart a better playing experience.

JUST MY TAKE. YMMV!

I agree,... I had a hard time deciding which one to take home when I had several at my hands to pick through.... some of the very best guitars I ever played.

I would have bought all of them that was there if I had the dough....

This is my CC28 the STP Montrose '58 Les Paul Standard.

There’s a recent video with Bernie sating he’s in “talks” again with Gibson to make a limited edition of his guitar the Beast. Can’t remember where I saw this but he it’s quite recent ~ 2-3months ag?

Paul McCartney's burst would be nice for lefties.

That is actually a fantastic idea,.... and Paul's burst is in excellent condition from what i have seen.

I’d like to see a Rich Robinson 68 Goldtop CC...

But I don’t think Gibson would get the aging correct.

And it would most likely be overpriced as hell, lol.

A Snowy White Gold Top would be awesome,.. but you're right.... getting the aging right would make it out of reach for most of us.

Speaking of leftys and SGs,.... this Elliot Easton SG would be nice,... and it could be strung up as a righty.

Tamio's CC is awesome as well. Never heard a song from Mr. Okuda but that has no bearing on the outstanding quality of his CC model. ;)

So far all points are valid,.... Though i am not bothered so much by unheard of owners of certain CCs as i was with the flooded market of soooo many of them at the same time.

I think that more attention to detail could be achieved if there are only a couple a year being produced,... and maybe some input from fans of which models they want to see being produced,.... so the word "Choice" has a real meaning.

;)

I think it was a Youtube video and yes the way he was talking it seems another Beast is imminent ... and yes with the new group running Gibson I agree with the over-priced as hell comment ...

I was in the dark until I gained an education on this forum on Historics and the CC range. I finally took the plunge and acquired a CC #7 Shanks, and couldn't be happier. I love all my 'Pauls, but that one is shoulders above the rest!

CCs were pretty cool at first but Gibson over did it in too short of a timeframe and I lost interest before the 10th model hit showrooms.

It's not a CC but something I would like to see Gibson do is to make a run with covered double whites. There shouldn't be an issue with DiMarzio if the pickups are covered. Make, say, 500 and then not do it again for a while. They would be sought.

Didn't they recently already do a run of uncovered double whites?
