Why Won't Epiphone Make a 55 or 56 Les Paul Custom?

Hello Everyone:
:slash:

I have been looking at all of the epiphone les paul customs that have been made, and I haven't seen any 55 - 56 P-90 Customs.

Sure they have a 56 gold top with P-90's, but the black custom with P-90's has that classic look and sound.

I would love to own a Gibby, but I don't wish to take out a mortage to own one.

I have seen Burnys, Edwards have their version, but I have never seen epiphone make one.

now if they offered two versions, one with a bigsby and one without, I am sure they'll sell.

I have been Jonesing for a P-90 LP for a while, but I didn't want a gold top or a special, so I bit the bullet and snagged a esp ec-256p in black with gold hardware, brand new for a killer deal.

but I sure would like to see an epiphone version, sure they have a black beauty triple pickup and a black custom, but I am sure a black les paul custom with p-90's would be a welcomed site.

just a thought
take care
George

Someone posted a pic of a black Custom with creme P90s a while back. I don't believe it was labeled a '56 or what have you, but it was very cool.

Off subject but I did see Hendrix' '55 LP Custom earlier this summer. Absolutely awesome.

Hello everyone

cute :)

nah I mean I have never seen a black les paul custom with p-90's by epiphone, I have seen one orville once for sale at Hibashi Music,

the gold top 56 is a standard, not a custom, big difference appearance wise,

burned out on gold tops, nothing personal, but if I get another gold top, it has to be a gibson and not a epiphone, had a 74 deluxe that was converted to regular humbuckers, that thing screamed, but I had to sell it off to pay for chemo treatments.

I have seen a gibson reissue a few years ago at Dave's guitars, but $6,000 is a bit too much in my opinion.

but I'd figure epiphone would have one out now considering how cool they look.

and yes I know they make p-90's that go into humbucker routes, but it's not the same appearance wise.

Neil Young's black les paul looks killer and sounds cool in my opinion.

epiphone may have made one before according to the wiki, but I have never seen it.

for now I settled on a black esp ltd ec-256p, I mean $200.00 new in the box with free shipping, can't complain, and it's not a distressed version which is a plus.

I might get an edwards or a burny version down the road, right now I am a happy camper and I ordered seymour duncans for the guitar.

take care

I wouldn't mind a '54 custom...
Needs an Ebony board though. Rosewood on customs is a no no.

I agree 100%. I wish Epiphone offered ebony on all it's Customs. The new ZW is all I can think of at the moment. Maple is sweet also.
