Surely you jest. All of those can be easily overcome.

I am serious, the amount of crims that would not even try when they come across such obstacles, let alone the ones that cant get the brain power to deal with it, would give a much lower chance of the situation occuring. There has to be other ways, I am no expert and I am sure there would be other ways, I do not have the answers, but nor does anyone else and the issue is there, what has been applied in the past and present has proven to be very undesirable or we would not even be in here talking about it I guess.

I am not saying ban the guns and all will be fine, but you have to take all things into consideration because its the methods thats are not in use that hold the answer

The point about the Nukes was this, (forget the Nukes, see the point)- Restrictions on public rights to own a dangerous object can be of benefit. Sometimes these restrictions are needed if they prove to increase better living.

I have taken your thoughts all into consideration:

Break And Enter: There are ways to make sure your home is secure enough to stop most criminals getting in, you can avoid being in such a situation. Alarms, security screens, camera's.

No Snarky Ass comment to date...not sure what you mean there

Your response was was reasonable, so forget the snarky-ass thing. One only has to back-page this thread to see what I mean about those who represent themselves as "pro-ban" delivering snarky-ass comments. I won't give them the time of day.

As to the rest of it; there, as I said several times, thousands of other scenarios that can come into play. Securing one's home is the first step, in that particular scenario. That isn't the end-all of reasons to retain gun rights for the law-abiding. It is merely a drop in the bucket.

One thing that's been touched on so many times in these threads, it's impossible to keep count: Criminals do not respect gun laws. They will get them any way they can, and from any place or source. Law-abiding people, by the very nature of that title, will not. Criminals don't care if they get popped for weapons possession, the enforcement of existing laws (and think about this: anyone convicted of a felony cannot own, nor be anywhere NEAR a firearm) is so pussy-weak that they for the most part have complete, utter disregard for the gun laws already on the books.

Wanna be disarmed against the bad guys, who don't give a fvck? I don't.

There are so many other issues to look at; the defense of our own soil against foreign invaders, etc. I guess you missed the 150 page thread (now deleted) the first time around. Plenty of explanations there. Too bad it deteriorated into, again, snarky-ass comments and rolling waves of butthurt.

I NEVER said you should loose your guns and let the crims keep theirs, how about instead of trying to make me look stupid you get with the topic and not insult my "modicum of intelligence", because it does get to me so congrats

He never said you did. What he's pointing out, and I know the guy well enough to read him, is that once law-abiding citizens once again obey the law and turn in their firearms (providing a ban goes into effect, of course), criminals will be the only ones holding all the cards. And as for the "modicum of intelligence" he means anybody who possesses common sense and the ability to think critically. He wasn't singling you out.

I would say the same exact thing.

^ Yes, it is written
Why would anyone with a modicum of intelligence suggest that I disarm myself and allow criminals to keep theirs?

Not sure how else to take that other than what it is, it does not have my name there but if its not directed at me at all then my intuition is way off balance

Definitely. An old and true statement is "locks only stop honest people". Also, in L.A. the police don't bother to answer alarms anymore (it's a "cost saving" uh huh).

And "American Staffies"???? As in Staffordsire Terrier (Pits)? Or their smaller relative the American Pit?

Guess what Mook, "they" are banning them as being dangerous dogs in some places. Here we usually just call them pit bulls.

Pit bulls are like the "assault gun" of the dog world. An easy target and scapegoat for the media and politicians. We could start a whole 'nother shit storm thread JUST about pit bulls.

Finish my entire post if your going to throw that at me, all you see is "nuke" and miss the entire point made behind the reference, which is maybe my fault, i should have forseen the impact of such a powerfull word and its ability to steer away from the rest of the post
