Everyone always mentions Leslie West when talking P90s. But no one mentions Keith Richards, Bob Marley, Pete Townshend, Carlos Santana, Mike Ness, Dick Wagner, Steve Hunter, Johnny Thunders, Mick Ralphs, John Lennon. All P90 players at one point or another. It’s a different flavor than humbuckers, for sure. Not better, not worse. Different.

.........2 Magnets are better than 1. I’m attracted to that concept because it’s a sound decision. ;) :D

A good P90 equipped guitar is a must. They don’t quite have the balls of a PAF, but with enough dirt, they have a raunch and rawness that you cant get with PAFs.

They feel different as well. Hard for me to put into words. So much fun to be had!

Some even have four! Or two really huge ones that are more than twice as thick and longer than typical humbucker-size long bars.

...or course some of those early 50's AlNiCo bars are very weak magnets. One short 60's A5 could be stronger than four of those 40's-50's larger bars. All that ferric mass changes the inductance of the pickups, though. In a cool vocal way, I think!

Man, I do love me some old Gibson pickups!

In case I sound crazy with the last post. I'm not. Well, ok. Maybe I am. ...but what I said was also correct, in this case.
