Why did YOU join MLP?

I have an oddball les paul studio lite that I was having no luck finding any info on. It was the folks here that gave me the clues that lead me to some excellent answers. Pretty much expanded from there.

Great group of people, and proud to be a part of the community.

I was looking into what I'd have to do to buy an LP in quite a few years. I started reading up on different models, what guys paid around here. I settled on the 2008 Standard and took the plunge. Honestly, I couldn't believe it I was buying a Les Paul.

Then about a month ago I was bidding on a Chicago Blue traditional standard hoping to get it for $1,600.00. I wanted to put a "Jimmy Page" harness in it. It sold for around $1,675.00 shipped, not to me. A few days later the German musikfest video came out demoing the 2012 Standard. It demoed the push/pulls and everything, I was sold and got it for $2,209.15. Again, i couldn't believe it.

Now I'm GAS'n for a R8/9 model for next year. I hope to get it for the right price, but needless to say I love these guitars. They are very elegant, stylish, mature. They're just great guitars.

Little did I know that when I found MLP.com that it was hands down the best Gibson Les Paul website out there. MLP'er loud and proud!

Hello all!

I just joined a few days ago.
I was looking around the net for info on the new Guitar Center LP Special 'pro' (which I just bought) and came across a couple of threads here. Up until then I had not seen the forum before.

I joined so that I could sit at the feet of those with more experience and learn something!

I was doing some googling regarding LP's as I was getting ready to make a purchase (see avatar and pic below for the result ) and somehow ended up here. One look around and I found some great info on LP's. Little did I know the true vastness of this little corner of the interwebs. Pretty amazing place and glad to be here! - heck, I even paid some hard earned $$ so I could get the little orange thingy under my name!!!
