Why are embossed Ginson PU cpvers so expensive

Was thinking of throwing one on the neck pickup of my slashbuckers, and damn..wtf?

Gibson only made them one year, 1972 I believe, so like everything "rare", "vintage", etc., they're priced sky high.

They do look great though.

An in that year they didn't make that many full sized humbuckers guitars either. SG's had just switched to tarbacks, and half the Les Pauls made were using mini's

Even Bonomassa has a 1972 guitar solely for the history of that 12 months of embossed covers.

Find a Gibson lapel pin and emboss your own with a propane torch, a block of wood and a hammer :cool2:

there was a set for sale in UK recently i am still kicking myself for not buying them, they were not expensive.
