Ever since Gibson put the new 2016 lineup on their website, I have been wanting the new Standard in trans black or amber. Want to try the 'T' And 'HP' models
GAAAAH!
I was content on the gear I have! :hmm:

I was content as well until the 2016 Standard "T" Plus Top series came out myself, the HP, or "high Progressive" line as I refer to it never did a thing for me personally, but that's how I ended up with this :naughty: one...

Hope this helps you with your gas :laugh2: Seriously, though the colors and tops are amazing...and absolutely NO QC issues myself at all. Only thing she needed was a good set-up and a set of 10-42's :thumb: Go ahead...pull the trigger on one, you know you want too :D

Never did anything for you? The HPs aren't even in the store yet? :laugh2:

I'm just messing with you. I understand the love for the Standard T, especially after the 2015 line. I just wish they would put out a 50s neck version. I would probably be all over it if they did.

I'm with 93LPStudio "High Progressive" (great term, btw :D) doesn't do it for me. But then again, I am a traditionalist at heart anyway.

Now... a Standard T with a 50s neck... now you have my attention! :)

because they are great guitars, what Gibson should actually keep producing, imho..just like the 2013/2012 standards.

I have yet to play a standard from these years which I wouldn't like.

I want to try the HP Standard as I am intrigued with the asymmetrical 60s neck with the Axcess heel.
The detractors are the G Force and that aluminum rectangle case. I see that case getting dinged real fast.

There are just to many other appointments that I don't want nor like, but thats just me, I don't blame anyone for trying/wanting this or that :thumb: Good luck in your endeavors. We will be watching for a NGD post in the near future from you :laugh2: !

I find the carved heel a long overdue option.

I agree wholeheartedly with your statement. I never understood why the carved heel was limited to the Axcess model.
