thoughts on the bridge?
I like it for the most part. I don't use the Bigsby much, but if I did, I know I would have tuning issues for sure. Looks cool, tho :)

EDIT: I just noticed you said bridge....It seems fine to me. Any tuning instabilities are directly attributable to the Bigsby. I bought it used, and the previous owner set it up. Pretty happy with the action so far.

I've had mixed results when buying SGs. I've bought 3 and had to send 2 of them back. One was an obviously returned guitar, complete with a drumstick-shaped dent on the upper horn. The dent wasn't Gibson's fault, but the terrible orange peeled finish was. Then they sent me a guitar with the neck angle so far off that I couldn't lower the bridge enough to make it playable.

The keeper was this shell pink CME exclusive; one of the most perfect guitars I have ever owned.

The CME SG Exclusives in Coral and Blue Frost have also been very tempting.

Too cool. I really dig the '62 RI, I own one from 1986 and from what I understand the '87 was a great year for those as well. From what I've read they started transitioning towards the '61 RI specs around '88, so you've got yourself a very special and under-rated guitar there. Congrats!

How do you like those Schallers?
How do you find the play-ability and feel compared with your '61 RI?

As a LP guy I've found most SGs that I've played to be a little uncomfortable, but the 1986 '62 RI suits me very well (as does my '67 RI from 2007). I've really come around to appreciating SGs more over the past few years since acquiring those two guitars (pictures posted on page 6 of this thread).

Super happy with the 87. Slightly smaller neck. This thing really shreds, came with 9's but will be set up for 10's. Shaw pickups are awesome!:dude: It's a hidden gem for sure. Was thinking of selling the 61 but they are different enough to keep it.:naughty:

Too cool, and yes, I meant Shaws, which I really like as well. Glad you've decided to keep the '61....the only thing better than an SG is two SGs. Now you got to find one with p-90s. Cheers.
