Which pot goes where?

I have four CTS pots ranging in values from about 560 down to 500. Where should I put the highest value pots? Volume or Tone? And which pickup should get the highest values, neck or bridge?

Not sure which should get the higher between tones and volumes, but higher values to the bridge for more treble thruput, I think. Subscribed, I gots to know, myself!

It's really a matter of preference IMO.

I'd personally use the highest pot for the neck volume & then tone since neck pickups can tend to be a bit muddy.

The values I have are 561, 556, 535 and 531k.

OK here is how I would do it

Volume & Tone
531K and 556K for the Neck.
535K and 561K for the Bridge.

Highest value in the Neck Volume, lowest in the Bridge Tone.

So....

561 -- NV

556 -- NT

535 -- BV

531 -- BT

Then the lower two for Tone pots...

535 -- NT

Since they are so close in value, any of the 16 possible combinations will do. I like Jonesy's take the best though. As long as you are looking for clarity, that would be best.
