Which of these tops would most typify an old burst?

None really except maybe C. Definitely not A, too much flecks and mineral streaks. If it were a real burst such a top would get a darker finish to hide those flaws

Definitely C.

Fiddle-back tops are actually a lot less common, than most people think.

In fact, I've seen/played at least 100 'bursts, and the majority of them were either extremely figured, or almost plain.

A, has some mineral streaks, problem with all three is that the flames look too perfect.

A looks the most vintage to my eyes.

There are thousands like B out there which i don’t understand. Almost no vintage LP looks like that.

The shop very kindly sent me this pic as there was a conflict in what the scales showed and what the right up said. A is not 8.1 lbs but 9.1lbs.

The stock pics are all an easy pass for me, but this looks pretty good.
Too heavy for my taste tho :p
its at upper range for me, would prefer sub 8 1/2lbs, I know some people don't get it/agree with us weight whores, but I really don't like picking a guitar up that feels heavy.

I go to the gym so I laugh when people tell me to workout.

A past injury left my neck herniated and left shoulder blade always has a strange twitch when putting stress on my bicep or shoulder.
Anything over 9lbs for me is a potential pain risk lol

To my personal taste, none of above looks vintage to me. Below are pictures of my 2020 R9, regular VOS, the top is what I perceive to be vintage looking, that was one of the reasons why I took her home. Others may disagree for sure. Again, my PERSONAL taste.

I don't think any of the three scream "old burst" to me.

That said, I absolutely would love to have "C"

EDIT- just realized it's an "old" thread.
