I've owned 5 OBG Reissues and 3 of them including the two I keep are better than any Gibson I've ever owned and better to me than my long gone Gibson 58R. I just Swampasize them as Wulfman says. New pots, caps and sometimes different pups. Just my humble opinion

Heritage H150s ARE Les Pauls as far as I'm concerned. I understand that some can't stand the headstocks, and that the horn is different and that's fine. I strongly disagree from the above poster - these are LPs. They still don't know how to cut a f#@&kin' nut right though.

I have an 80s Burny and have played a couple others and they're killer.

I'll put the above guitars against Gibson Historics all day, any day of the week.

Well, to me at least, as much as this Nik Huber Orca is.

Great guitars again.

After doing much research and playing one copy after another and almost ready to mortgage my house(just foolin but almost as expensive and signature mods are} i came across Prestige guitars. I know youve heard and read it a million times this is best etc..Ill say this much IMO I cannot tell differance playing wise between this and a customshop except I little cosmetics. I dare say Gobson wohuld be asking in the 3.000-5.000 price for this guitar. check em out

While this isnt my clip, the SX Les Paul I bought is identical to this cosmetically(aside from a very minor difference fretboard pattern everything else, hardware, components and finish is the same)
There is however one big difference...The one i have has a bolt-on neck.
Whats the feeling on Les paul replicas with bolt on necks? is it considered blasphemous? (said with a smile on my face)
From my point of view its a joy to play with a great sound...i cant imagine a set neck making too much difference in this case.

Still stoked with it. Paid just over $200 NZD. Best purchase in a very long time.

What does the SX weigh?

I have a chance to pick up an Agile AL2000 for $200, and it's 8.75lb.s 6 months old.

similar weight..just a shade under 9 pounds...weight doesnt feel too bad.
By comparison I have an old Vox standard 25 that clocks in at over 10 pounds...it aint a Les Paul but its a heavy guitar.

I just googled the agile..looks nice..looks very similar to the SX..the one i saw had the same cherry sunburst finish and a price tag of around $225 new. Heres the web page.

Agile AL-2000 Electric Guitar in Cherry Sunburst Flame

Also youll find this page useful. People seem to say great things about aglile LPs. Better than SX in fact..found it very intresting, particularly some opinions on bolt on vs set necks...about there being better sustain in some guitars with bolt on necks...i swear you read different opinions every day.
Agile Guitar Forum Archive - - Two questions for Agile/Douglas/SX Les Paul owners!

Actually on a similar note im considering the Epiphone Les Paul Junior in this pic below...asking price is around $200 NZD. Dont know if thats a good price or if the epiphone junior is a good guitar..also the single humbuck pickup makes me wonder...if anyone has any thoughts on this guitar let me know

seller says it's identical to this stock pic,
al2000tbsbird5.jpg

Here's the deal, it's for my granddaughter. So I'm aiming for 8lb.s or under.

And she's not going to appreciate "relic," not one bit. Got my work cut out for me at a $299 to $300 budget. Actually $200 makes more sense for a first electric.

I thought that too. But unfortunately shes played my Burny Luper Prade FLG-90. That's what she wants.

Her dad has a Aria shredder-floyd-strat thing, loves Pantera/Slayer/early Metallica type of guy. Not want she wants.

I keep trying to figure out a way to get a Bacchus Universe or ESP Grassroots, but just can't find one cheap enough.

I'm a lookin' I'm a lookin' .... :)

Yeah, I know about about the dad.

Now if the bottom rung Gladiator had trap inlays, my job would be done. (the 157 as I recall, not the boltneck)

Considering getting her a Valvetronix 15 to pair it up with, found one for $65.

When I was a teenager, the local music store got in three Les Paul Standard copies that amazed the sales guys with how close they were to the real thing. They had the exact same weight and feel, and the electronics were every bit as good as the Gibsons hanging on the wall.

The headstocks had the usual "Les Paul model" decal on front but no Gibson logo, and on the back was a round sticker with the words "Kopy Kat." That's all it said.

One salesman told me (after he was fired) that the main customers for them were a couple of guitar repair guys in the area who would inlay "Gibson" on the headstocks and sell them as genuine Les Pauls that were dropped off for repairs but never picked up.

I'd sure like to run across one of those again!
