It's been an Amazing start of the year for the Gibson Custom Shop and the Beauty of the Historics...All the new appointments and such. There's been so many HNGD's posted of Beautiful 2013's I can't hold out much longer. Question is Which one to choose...? Historics in 59 or 60, Big Tops, The Shanks, The Perry. Am I missing one? Which would you choose?

if ya want a cool R0...I'd suggest one of the Benchmark Series R0's.

Shanks is a great choice...

Any one in particular out of the 4 currently at Dave's? ...a friend of mine is pulling the trigger on one of them next week. I came very close to buying 83881. Btw I've heard that they've got a whole lot more on the way. :naughty:

Interesting on the Shanks..got off the phone with a Very Reputable Dealer and I was leaning toward the Perry of which he had in stock. I asked the question of all the 2013's to choose from he said the Shanks is Very Good and I gotta think he was objective becuase he didn't have one in Stock. However, he did say the neck is sorta of a V Tapor profile.

Honestly, they all look damn good!

But I like the Bourbon and the Iced Tea ones...

So if you are looking for a fiddleback top, can you specifically order that?

what do people like about the shanks?

Good question!
I haven't had the oppurtinity to play one and to compare it to another CC model or a regular 2013.
I guess the price makes it very attractive compared to a regular 2013.
And the aging must be really good.

So all you Shank owners let us know what is so special!

I'd say go for the '13, if you see 1 that does it for you. The big tops float around so chances are it will be up again at some point . I think the 13's (the great tops) will stay with their owners for a while . If the rest are similar to what i got , these have very good wood this year . But your heart will tell you which guitar to get . Right after you buy the other one . :laugh2:

Leaning toward the Perry Burst in VOS...There's been quite a few HNGD'S for MLP members in the VOS and Aged version. After some alone time are you guys/girls happy with your Perry so far? Good Times, Bad Times...What's the Verdict so far?
