I just got my new 2012 Left-handed Les Paul Studio Wine Red with Gold Hardware that I ordered online, but I am confused. It comes with creme pickguard, pickup rings and toggle ring. Should all these not be black on a Gold Series guitar?

So I just did a search and it appears that there is a 2012 Studio model with a mahagony top that has the creme trimmings.

Can any of you experts help me out please? I was expecting to open the case and see the black trimmings not creme, so I am so confused what model I have now.

Happy NGD to you . :) You shouldn't worry about pickup rings come in creme vs.black on a new GIBSON day , really .

Creme looks much better on a red guitar than black ever will , btw.
Rock on !:applause:
Please , don't forget to post pics for a better diagnosis .

Thanks!

It was just that I wanted black. The color combo with the Gold hardware is what pulled me in. However, the creme is starting to grow a bit.

The main issue though is if I have the studio with the mahagony or maple top. The one in my link has the Mahagony top, while regular studios have a maple top. Can you guys tell me the difference???

Also, it says it has a 59 neck, while regular studios have a 60s neck. Again, I don't really know the difference. Can someone explain?

But bottom line like anyone, I would like to know the specifics of my guitar. Any image I've seen is wine red/gold hardware with black trimmings, not creme. This is what is so confusing.

Looks like Gibson has a new 2013 Studio standard model and you've already got one :thumb:.
Specs say '59 neck , 490R , 498T pickups ( not Burstbucker pros ) , modern weight relief ( not chambered like regular studios ) , carved mahogany top ....
I'm not surprised this thing is already sold out ....!!

I'd be a happy camper with this guitar , really

Oh , by the way only some studio tributes have the thin 60s neck .
Without pics of your guitar no one can really tell....so....post some pics , please .

Very nice guitar fellow lefty.

I have a lefty Traditional in wine red with the cream accents and I think it looks great.

Gibson sometimes alternates between cream and black with certain colors. I saw Pelham Blue Studios with black accents in the past, yet the 2012 Pelham Blue Studio I got has cream. They are pretty easy to swap out, but I think Wine Red looks awesome with the cream.

Enjoy that guitar!

Okay, I will post pics tomorrow. It's too dark now to take decent pics. Any specific profiles you want?
