When did Gibson start/end the aluminum box in the control cavity?

It's a "just curious" question... but when did these shields come and go?

This was a Norlin era commencement.
I know my 1980 had one.....but the early 70's spec Custom I have didn't. So I'd be narrowing it down to a Nashville factory related change.

edit - also at the same time period the bridge ground wire was dropped, and both the jack and the switch areas also gained faraday cage shields.

Hmmm.... I didn't look for the ground wire, but it didn't jump out at me. My '77 Dlx has the box and the Faraday shield.

My '81 Deluxe has one. It's a pain in the ass to remove.

I also remember the 70ths as the beginning of the alu box. Certainly it ended with the vintage hype as there were no alu boxes in 50ths Gibsons .
