hi all,
taking out the neck p/up on my lp classic for the first time today, I was keen to see what was written inside, seeing as alot of finish types and colour codes are denoted on the bottom of the p/up cavity. In pencil mine seems to have the letters H S written in the neck cavity. Its a honey burst finish guitar, and I would have thought it would have H B denoting HoneyBurst. I may be wrong, it may well be H B seeing how a quickly and roughly written B could look alot like an S.

Heres a pic, its very very hard to see as the letters are in pencil. (I'll post a better one soon)
could anyone tell me what the H S stands for? as i said it could quite well be H B but its vey lightly written if not 'scribbled' in pencil making it very hard to read.

Try macro focusing or take the picture from a larger distance. It will be a lot clearer. ;)

It doesn't mean anything. You've been freaking out about every little detail since you got it, and as great as I think that is, there is nothing wrong with your Classic.

+1 to Boles' comment. I wondered that too for a second when I first got mine, but then I realized that it had absolutely NO bearing on the overall quality of the guitar whatsoever.:thumb:

It's more than likely an abbreviation of the colour...HB=HoneyBurst, HCSB=Heritage Cherry Sun Burst, etc etc etc....

Please don't ever post a picture like that again. You're going to put someone's eyes out.

Worry only when you see, "Help me ! I'm being held prisoner and they're coming to " in a hasty scrawl.

Looks like a long neck tendon !!!!!!!!!

PS: 'HB/HS' stands for 'High Buoyancy/High Sustain"
