What's the ugliest finish on a Les Paul?

And I agree (no offense to gold finish foke). Personally, I never liked the gold tone on the hardware. To me, it just makes them look cheap too, and it always fades and looks really cheap within a few years anyway... Again, no offense if that's what ya like. But it's only my perspective..

There was an Abalone shell covered LP up on CL around here for a while. I thought that was pretty hideous.

I kinda like the cracked mirror one, but I doubt that affection would last more than five minutes. "Heh, cool... actually, this is dumb." I saw a regular mirrored one a while back, and that was pretty much my reaction.

Quick for the records:
Generally speaking, i don't like gold hardware, though there are exceptions (like, on white).
ZWs are awful. All of them.
Pastels, neons, and bright, plain tops are all fails.
Thumbs down for the silverburst.
Ditto for clown bursts. Even the best of cherry bursts leave me cold.
I do like the trans blue.
I do like LP quilt tops

Ok, now I'm sure y'all can rest easy knowing what I do, and do not, like.

Also I never like the MIC Epi gold top.. they look too sparkle in my opinion.

First post so mistakes may be made.
Been a member for a while, just never had a reason to post. Seems there are enough experts here that all of my questions have been answered. (thank you) Also seems there are plenty of replies so I don't know that my 2 cents would be worth much.

Anyway, saw this post and decided why not? So for those of you that like to dislike the blue, here's mine for you. (with a few mods)

i like the blue finish myself,and owned a blue sparkle LP for a while.in fact the carvin singlecut with quilt top in trans blue is droolworthy...

I actually like the that orange burl type grain in it. I think on that specific one, the white "bars of soap" look kinda funny on it. Even tho Im not a Chrome guy, chrome on the orange LP like that looks nice..

I may be a traditionalist, but if it didn't exist in the 50/60's, then it doesn't look good to me. It made me laugh when Gibsons President said we were 50 years behind technology with guitars, and tried to tell us the X is the guitar of the future, but pianos, violins, and other stringed instruments have been around for a lot longer than electric guitars, and they haven't been "updated", so why should a guitar. Sometimes, you just can't improve on the original.

There is one of those Classics at a local shop here in Sydney. While it's not my cup of tea it does look a lot better in person. I can't remember the name of the artist who did it but every time I go in I can't help but pick it up and have a strum.
