Recently I got a LP standard second hand, which serial number is 94048121.
The former owner told me that it's produced in year 1998. I know the 2nd~5th digital number means the day of the year. It's imporssible there's a 404th day of any year.
I was so curious about that, but the guitar touches so nice and sounds so good.I paid $2000 and got it.
Then I went to check gibson official and found this:
Those beginning with "94":
In 1994, Gibson's Centennial year, many instruments have a serial number that begins with "94" for the year, with the remaining 6 digits indicating the ranking number.
Now I found I got a 25 years old relic. It makes me so Excited!
Anyway,I need to know the meaning about the rest numbers, the 121st guitar in day 48th of year 1994?
