What's the longest you've left your guitar out of the case?

Mine stays out of the cases, it only goes into a case when I have to gig with it. Usually I only bring 1 guitar, 2 at the most. Otherwise what you see is where it is.

on a wall but mostly on the stands....cases when going for a ride in the car....

Grandkids come over.....on the wall....then one of them will ask and I'll let them strum....supervised....

I don't want them hurting themselves.

I do not own a case.

I do have 3 gig bags, but even then the guitars only get bagged when I'm bringing them somewhere... that said, the acoustic has been sitting in its gig bag for 2 months because I'm too lazy to restring it. Even though I miss it.

I know what I'm doing tomorrow

Well like all other beautifull things, guitars should not be hidden away in cases :D

The only time mine see a case is when going to practice or a gig.

My LP only goes in its case if it's travelling or we're away on holiday. Must be nearly a year since it's been in its case now.

I bought a couple of stands after I bought the Trib, and when I bought a second LPMM I had to bring out the old Hamilton stand. The Trib now stays in a HSC that I bought, and the LPMMs and a '71 Epi project stay on the stands. My Guild F20 is in an old, cheap case with a belt holding it closed. The three gig bags are stuffed into a Gibson shipping carton.

Any you guys never keep it in the case?

czvBoo9.jpg

When I first bought my LP Goldtop Traditional, I kept it in its case for a while...partly because I was treating it like a Faberge egg, partly because when I opened the case and LOVED the cotton candy smell of the nitro finish.

Now...it hasnt been in its case for almost two years. I still sniff the finish from time to time. Yep, its weird, and no I dont care.

This is a very cool Stanley Kubrick Room....

You just need that milk dispenser and table in "A Clockwork Orange" to complete it....:)

I revamped my walk-in closet this weekend. Ended up pulling out two dust-covered cases, cleaning them up, wrapping them in trash bags. I got them stored up above now. I have no use for them.

A lot of mine have not been in a case in 15+ years ... as long as we've lived in our current house.

Cases are for taking guitars places, or for closet queen guitars, not for storing guitars between uses.

:dunno:

5 years or more since I got the slat wall installed. It would be easier to answer which ones have been in their cases more - those are the 4 or 5 I take out of the house to play. Everything else stays out where they can be grabbed when needed.

Ah but the question nobody has ever asked in any guitar forum is....

'Do cases affect tone? '

Sorry, just couldn't help it.......:laugh2:

.

I'll bet Eric Johnson can tell by hearing your tone how long you keep your axes in their cases, as well as what kind of cases you keep them in.:hmm:

I have cases for all my 5 guitars. I used to hang them but now I rotate stock on a week, or 2 basis. When not in the rotation and being played, they are cased. I would say they are out of their cases for ~ 2 weeks max.
