I bought a 1962 fender precision bass in 1980 for £90, that's about $140 i still have it but it does not leave the house much.
That's a dang fine guitar. My sis n law has a peavey sig gold top with SD pups in it. I helped her find it I'm glad she's got it....I wish I had it. Lol. Oh she paid much more but still got a good deal.A Peavey Signature series guitar upgraded with a set of Seymour Duncan JB pickups for $60. It even came with the original pickups. Best $60 I've ever spent.
That's the best deal I've gotten too!November 2012.
It was a dark and stormy night...
no it wasn't...it was sunny and the e-mail flew into
my mail box.

I wait 2 hours and the GT was gone. Damn. Settled, at that
price, for a Satin Cherry. Had it in three days...love it.
Yup, my co-worker told me about a Dan-electro looking guitar at the local second hand store. Thinking it was probably a recent chinese RI I asked about the color. He said "brown", I said "see ya" (they didn't reissue brown ones) and off I went, going a bit faster than i should have. I ended up with a '61 Silvertone U1 for $39.95.You do need to act fast for sure!!
Sounds like you might be a gearslut. Check out this garage sale score of mine a few years ago. There's more to the story if you read the entire thread ...Neumann U67, original box with all paperwork, original Neumann phantom power supply - $20 at a police seizure auction.
