I bought a 1962 fender precision bass in 1980 for £90, that's about $140 i still have it but it does not leave the house much.
That's a dang fine guitar. My sis n law has a peavey sig gold top with SD pups in it. I helped her find it I'm glad she's got it....I wish I had it. Lol. Oh she paid much more but still got a good deal.A Peavey Signature series guitar upgraded with a set of Seymour Duncan JB pickups for $60. It even came with the original pickups. Best $60 I've ever spent.

Yup, my co-worker told me about a Dan-electro looking guitar at the local second hand store. Thinking it was probably a recent chinese RI I asked about the color. He said "brown", I said "see ya" (they didn't reissue brown ones) and off I went, going a bit faster than i should have. I ended up with a '61 Silvertone U1 for $39.95.You do need to act fast for sure!!
