What would you call this top?

It's Mahogany (well, really Nato/Eastern Mahogany) but it's very stripey, kind of like African Mahogany but not quite.

I think it is a stained veneer of unknown origin. Looks nice.

Yes. The back and neck of my Gibson LP Classic has some very slight figuring/flame.

Looks like bookmatched mahogany. I'm not sure I'd go as far as "flamed" mahogany. It's pretty subtle. I didn't even notice it the first time I looked at the photo. If it qualifies, then so-be-it.

It is veneer. Looks nice. They obviously wanted to accent the flame it has since they went to the trouble of matching it.

Certainly there is flamed/curly/figured mahogany. But this isn't it.

The thing is, I've seen it fairly often on that model, always bookmatched in either direction, so it's not a coincidence. Here's a better angle:

I would go with curly rather than flamed because of the large size and low definition of the figure. but its not really important

Its definitely figured mahogany
