Not much different than saying blackface or silverface DR or SR or Twin etc. Or CBS and pre-CBS. No one ever really has to say Fender.

When I am at a gig and start talking with other guitar players, I just automatically start thinking like everyone belongs to MLP. They never know what the hell I'm talking about. I had to explain what R7 means. I had to explain the difference between blackface and silverface and how Leo sold it to CBS etc. Then they start to glaze over slightly. bwahahahahaha it cracks me up. :laugh2:
... and if you throw in "AB763 circuitry", they will glaze over completely.
