I bought a set of PUPs of flea bay but want to know what they are.
They came I think of a Les Paul standard on the Back plate is stamped
"Gibson USA" the neck PUP reads 7.82 and the Bridge PUP reads 13.77 so what are they? and what Magnets are used in these?
Wow my first post.

I know a picture says a thousand words but it's only a pair of pups with chrome or nickel covers on and I don't really want to remove these and run the risk of shorting the coils.
P.S. I saw Zep at Knebworth made me hang my guitar up with shame!!

They will almost certainly be a 490R and a 498T judging by the D.C resistances you quote

They are alnico 5 and if you want to check bobbin colors without removing the covers, just remove a brass baseplate screw for each bobbin. They will almost certainly be all black.

Thanks for your reply.I had a feeling that's what they are.How do they compare tone wise to a pair of Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers. I am thinking of putting them into an Epi 335 Dot studio that I am currently converting to a Hybred (Variac + Pups)But am not sure wich will be the better option for a semi.??

Seth Lovers have AlNiCo II magnets in them. Quite nice for a jazzer. Your bridge pickup is a little hot in comparison. But the cost of a couple of magnets is a cheap option compared to any other option.

Thanks for the info once again.I'll stick with the 490R and 498T not being a Jazzer I have an Epi 335 with 57 Classics in and they are close to Seth Lovers so that will give me a more varied tone .Thanks again
