What pickups are in your Les Pauls ?

I have them in a epi lp custom and they aren't very open.

They are fairly compressed, but I like them that way for rock and metal. The neck does blues well with a tweed amp, and I can dial in nice clean tones with the EQ. I really haven't tried any other guitar pickups apart from the stock Epiphone 57CH and HOTCH humbuckers, so the bar was not set very high.
I find that they meet my needs, but I do have a set of Probuckers on the way, and I will AB them.
Maybe I there are better pickups, but these are very versatile and most importantly fit into my budget.

I find rocksong better to my liking than probuckers... I swapped probuckers in every epiphone I have... in the 339 I'm still deciding...they are fairly good and for what I use that guitar I don't know if it is worth the trouble and the money to swap it.

I did try a Polished A5 in the bridge Rocksong. Reduced the mids by a fair amount, increased treble and the bass was more present. Maybe a mod you could try. I also intend to try an A3 in both positions

I switched the magnets in the Rocksongs from Alnico 2 to Alnico 5.
Mine came from an old Epiphone 57CH. You can buy them for a couple of bucks anywhere online, but i would personally use Philadelphia luthier tools

thank you.... I figured but an explanation is better. just a question from somebody who doesn't know:
if I switch the magnets...what is that "make the sound" ? wiring and pole materials?
I'm asking because I'm ignorant so...I want to learn.
If you use some alnico5 from an epi pickup.... sounds different from it?
if I have some pickups around...how can I know what type of magnets they have?
(I have probucker2 and 3 from aliexpress, I swapped with the toneriders because they were too bright).
also I'm from italy so...it's not convenient to buy in the states with taxes, shipping, customs.....

My 2007 Epi LP Custom has a Pearly Gates neck and a Duncan Custom bridge. I’m also using Triple Shot humbucker rings to switch coils on/off and for parallel coils and push/pull volume knobs for phase splitting and series/parallel switching.

Seth’s in one 20 year-old Classic and Burstbucker 1+2 in my ‘18 Traditional. Are there better sounding pickups for each? Most likely is a “Yes” to the question, but these two sets seem to bring out the tones that I expect in relation to the amp that I usually use, an Orange Dark Terror; using only a minimum of amp gain and rely on picking technique to find even more tones.

Over the years I've tried lots of pickups, boutique as well as bulk gibson's, Duncan's, Dimarzio's, etc.
For some reason, I always end up putting the old one's back.

And they do work in my Special, really well. I think they could go better or worse in some guitars.

And I still agree mostly with what I wrote there 5 years ago. Still have them in that guitar. They are still articulate, open sounding, all the things mentioned in that thread,

Are they the greatest pickups out there, for that slightly hotter PAF tone? No. But they are darn good ones. AND for the $210-$220 a pair you can get them for, they are excellent. Really, thats bang for the buck in spades.
