Hi, I'm Torsten From Germany. Just bought an old Frankenstein Telecaster Copy on Ebay. The bridge pickup seems to be Gibson although it's not written on it! Engraved "Pat No 2 737 842" and stamped "42 78 80". Both coils have adjustable pole pieces, which is uncommon for Gibson PUs. Anybody knows more about it?

It sounds like the neck could be a Gibson Dirty Fingers

I'm guessing Dirty Fingers too. Does it have Two braided leads coming out of it? The newer ones have one four conductor lead. Hard to tell in the pic.

It's just one braided cable. And it is splittable. The rear poti selects between sc and HB mode.

Does "42 78 80" tell anything about the production date?

I think the 880 part is August 1980.
