A dude on ebay is trying to pass this off as a Gibson Classic 57 because it is in a plastic Gibson case...
Looks more like an old DiMarzio or Ibanez to me with the rounded triangular tabs.

Do any of you pup experts recognize what mfg. this pickup would be based on the 12-hole brass bassplate?
Did Gibson make pups with this funky baseplate?
I'd like to educate the dude...

I've never seen a Gibson humbucker with triangular tabs.

Gibson uses brass baseplates to hang P-90's from the batwing on the SG Classic.

DiMarzio was stamping their name into the baseplates long before they switched from square tabs to triangular, so it's not a DiMarzio either.

Thanks guys - I let him know...
Also, let him know that Gibson baseplates have square "legs", not triangular. And, that there are only polepiece screwholes on one side. Not to mention, all Gibson-made pickups have metal, braided wire. Not plastic-coated. Definite signs of most cheap, import pickups.
