You're right Mikey...and if I'm not mistaken one of their first performances was on the bill with The Stones At Hyde Park, also on the bill was...the original KING CRIMSON, going into this concert Crimson was the hottest band coming up the ranks...

First i've ever heard of his 335 being referenced to as being associated with Layla a song/album written/recorded 2 years later by which time he had switched to playing Strats.

Layla was recorded using Brownie. Interestingly, I saw Derek and the Dominos on 18th August, 1970, and EC used the ES335 for the vast majority of the set. 8 days later the recording of Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs commenced. I got to see the band again in early October of the same year (same town, different venue), and Clapton used Brownie throughout.

Agree, and tbh Downes was never a brilliant player either.. Listen to how he is butchering Yes keyboard parts now!

I think the main difference between a "super group" and a "side project" has to do with the egos involved.

OP, I thought your username was based on a super group/ side project song (members of Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity, Crowbar).
