After any Beatles song, I really, really like Tears for Fears. This is my favorite. Oleta plays piano beautifully and has fabulous vocal chops! Quite a bit of jazz influence goin' on. (guitar solo at 4:30 is superb):

It was. In fact I love the Hendrix version. But SRV took that song and without a single word somehow made it an entirely different entity, which in my opinion absolutely dwarfed the original. Hendrix did it himself with "All Along the Watchtower," he took the original and made it his bitch. Hendrix did it, Zeppelin did it (OFTEN if you include riffs and progressions), almost everyone did it. SRV just blew my mind when I heard this the first time, and after spending the last 3/4 of a year trying to learn and master SRV's studio version note for note, it still blows me away. All hail, SRV.
