"I contacted Gibson customer support and even they cannot tell me what year the guitar was made. I have also contacted a very well known and reputable appraiser, however, after viewing many pictures, he said he would have to conduct further investigation with the guitar in hand."

BWAHAHahaha..... Yah, shooore buddy!!! :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2: I'm sure you contacted Gibson and a reputable appraiser. :D

Anybody who can't identify that guitar instantly with 1 glance at the tailpiece, has not been involved with guitars much in the last few years.

Do a bunch of these reissues have the PROTOTYPE stamp or do we just keep seeing the same guitar over and over?

Wasn't built in '53... that's a given.

Looks like a 21st Century version

He can maybe somehow figure out how to pack and ship the guitar to a buyer once he gets paid but can't figure out how to get it to an appraiser whole states away (gasp!).

Unbelievable.
