Love perusing eBay, and ran across a minty Marshall Mini Stack currently at $167.50 with the reserve not yet met. The way the post is written, I'm guessing that it will sell quite a bit below the 4 bills retail for a new one. I've always thought they were kinda cool looking, and I live in an apartment, yada, yada. (And they're made by Marshall, so they have to sound great, right? That is not a serious question.)
So I did a little reading about the basic premise behind separate components vs. combos, etc. From what I read, the MMS has virtually none of the advantages of a full size stack and all of the disadvantages. What am I missing, or is it just a marketing thing that sells a lot of folks just like it almost did me?
(And I'm not trying to bash Marshall or this model amp. Heck, I drive a full size pickup truck solely because I think it's cool, and the largest item I think I've hauled in her is a disassembled Adirondack chair from IKEA. I probably laid down a towel underneath the box.)
[EDIT] said "perusing CL" and meant eBay.
