The heaviest LP I heard of is 14 lbs....but it’s just a claim... never verified as far as I’m concerned.

I once lifted a RD artist that felt heavy as TWO 1955 LP goldtops

Old thread, but here's the bottom line: Lester William Polsfuss looks like he probably weighed about 160-170 in his elder years, making him the heaviest Les Paul in history, period.

Some kind of valid weigh in is preferred to back it up, but you can tell us a story you've heard from your brother's friend's neighbor who used a chinese made bathroom scale. Just let us know how accurate your info is!

Can I start here?

My first guitar was a 78 Custom in wine red and I'd have to say that thing weighed 11ish lbs. I never did weigh it, but know it was a heavier guitar than my current 68 RI which is almost 10# even.

Another heavy LP that I had was a 12.0 lb 1985 Custom. That thing was a boat anchor! ... and that was 12 lb on a bathroom scale.
Yikes! Haha my Norlin Standard is a little over 9 pounds and to me that’s heavy. :bowdown Granted, I was a Stratocaster player for the past ten years, so I guess the weight of a Gibson Les Paul is new to me.

Wow to the 12+ comments.. I thought mine is heavy (11lbs) it doesn't like to stay in your lap, and a couple of songs standing up and you need a break. Even another pound i'd guess would start to be almost unplayable.

You know they're heavy when they start to be uncomfortable to play sitting down, lol.

Heaviest I have heard claimed (unverified) was around 15 pounds.
I owned a '77 for a long time that was just over 12 pounds.
My current '79 is almost exactly 11 pounds, and that's the heaviest I could go at this point. After about 2 hours I have to put it down.
