Reading the forums i keep seeing "Stinger.." and "Stinger Les Paul.." here and there. I am curious to know what this actually refers to and means?

They are like the uber guitars :p
They are usually expensive, and have all the good features :thumb:

I don't know what makes one, but they're named for the back of the headstock painted black, ending in a sharp point where it meets the neck.

So it's like a Historic/Reissue with higher quality of wood and hardware??

Are there any differences in the construction method and amount of handwork compared to "normal" Custom Shop guitars?

afaik the only difference is the paint on the back of the headstock. It's about the rarity I think.

Not a chance. If I ever had that much money and spent it on a guitar I would lose my wife, my house and my three best friends.

I really like the look, even though I'm rarely caught gazing at the back of my head stocks. If I get my R8's neck shaved, I might have it "Stingered".

I've never seen anything that claims they're any "better" than a Custom Shop with selected woods.

I like it best when all of the neck and back of headstock is black, but that's just me :D
