Love them:

Which model is that, Scott?

Bursting has gone over the top and much of what I see is ridiculous or boring. Epis with a thin veneer being described as "bursts," Gibson's freaky/ugly/jive new "burst" types, and other second-rate treatments have become silly. Ditto with the high-end obsession with famous bursts (and exact copies of them). I like good bursts but dislike burst culture a lot. A GT allows the guitar itself, as a guitar, to be the main thing you see. Though gold, it's got a nice luster but does not look metallic or even particularly shiny. The color goes well with mahogany. And it allows your playing and the whole guitar to command attention, not your finish, for crying out loud.
That Silvertop would look bad freaking ass with all gold hardware and pup covers! If I ever get another Les Paul, it will be a gold top. They're just awesome looking. I've always liked them.

For some reason a silver top doesn't work for me, even though I prefer the color silver much more in general. Would probably look better with matching silver knobs instead of the gold.
