What is a good price for a beat up 2013 R8 that was poorly reliced?

I'm thinking about possibly selling my R8 but don't know what a fair price would be. I haven't really been watching the used market that closely as of late so I'm curious if you might be able to recommend a fair price for it.

Thanks

What pickups? That could actually lower or raise the price depending on individual buyer preferences.

But we really need pics of the relic job and of the top. Those really determine the price.

They're David Allen Alley Cats, which I think sound great, but arguably aren't popular in this forum. There are pics of the top and everything at that link. https://goo.gl/photos/u756cxwtAsqP7RPy7

Start at $2,400. Be ready to accept $1,600.

I'd look at it like this... what's a 2013 R8 that has been refinished worth? Maybe $2,000.

So, I'd offer $2,000, minus what it would cost for a refinish.
Seems reasonable to me

My opinion.....FWIW. What you have there is sort of a "bastardized" R8. The "relic" job certainly subtracts from the value, as it's not done by a reputable establishment (HM, etc.). Pickups could make a BIT of a difference if they are really something special, but other than that, that also doesn't help the value. So....

A mint true "plain top" like you have would SELL (you can ask whatever you want, but if you truly want to SELL it) for about $2500-$2800. Only the market will tell you what you have to subtract from there for the above "issues". I'd say if you listed it at $2500 and were open to offers, you'd move it fairly quickly......my guess is you'd find a buyer in the 2k-$2200 range.

Also, take into consideration what YOU bought it for. If YOU bought it the way it sits, that should tell you something about what someone is willing to pay for it....unless you got taken for a ride.

I wouldn't really call it a "relic" job per say as much as someone straight fucked up the finish....lol

I would say somewhere in the high teens, but if you find someone who actually likes the relic job, you might get just over $2K. Could be a great platform for someone who wants to do a Historic Makeover, especially given that the prices are lower for '13 and newer Reissues...

I'd say that's a perfect candidate for a refin. Starr Guitars, Gordon Miller, RS Guitarworks, Lay's Guitar, or Historic Makeovers ($$$$ pricey) could do what ever you wanted done. Starr Guitar, RS and Lay's are pretty reasonable but prices climb steadily from there.

Any of these guys will make that R8 whatever you want, they'll even reshape the neck if you so choose. Even if you don't have it redone I'd bet that someone else would pay a lower price ~$1800 to 2K so they could have it refinished.

I'd put it on ebay at $2200 Buy it Now and take offers. You'll prolly end up with a quick sale at $1800 to 2K. GLWTS! :cheers2:

I'd be at $1500 or below myself. You can find plain tops that are pristine for $2k or just over.

I went looking for a used 2013 or later spec historic all this year. Didn’t care what it looked like cosmetically. Searched eBay, Reverb, forums classifieds, and Craigslist everyday. I didn’t find a single one for under $2,000 and I was looking for an R7, which are typically cheaper. Anyone who’s telling you less than that is either lowballing you or has access to great deals that I don’t.
