What I Do For Fun At Work

I teach kids to RAWK!! Sometimes, I get in there myself. Here's a shot of my little 'right-hand man' and me grooving out some Lenny Kravitz at last June's charity concert. The boy can already play circles around me, but I don't let him know that.

THAT is what I'll bet makes you a terrific teacher. What "subject" do you teach when you're not rocking out?

One of the joys of teaching I do miss that

No doubt kids have tremendous talent. There are quite a few that I helped along on their journey early on who have left me in the dust.

I do get compared to ol' Dewey. Last year, I missed picture day due to being sick. This is what the kids on the yearbook committee used for my pic.

The kids are freaking awesome. Their devotion to the project is inspiring. Their loyalty to me is heartwarming. This is the best part of my job. Thanks for the compliment.

When I'm not rocking with the youngsters, I teach Grade 8 Math and this year, Science.

Thanks a bunch, Harmony! They inspire me! I've been doing this for 12 years now and I think it's done a lot to keep me interested in playing music. I doubt I would have ever put a band together if I wasn't involved with this.

And yes, teaching kids to RAWK is more fun than Math, but it is my favourite subject to teach.
