Me?

I used to work on Porsches . . . . had just about every specialty tool you can imagine.

Then about 20 years ago my cousins gave me our grandparent's old house out on the farm.

I figured my chances of ever seeing a 911 again was slim . . . . not to mention actually working on one.

The tools sat in my toolboxes for years, never used.

So, I sold them all on eBay.

Then about six years ago our daughter gets transferred from her job here to New York.

She meets and marries a wonderful guy who loves to tinker, mess with and rebuild cars. His favorite car is the Porsche 911.

Her husband is a 911 fanatic!!!

Who would have ever thought?

Damn me!!!

What kind of strange stuff has happened to you like this?

My first car.

1966 Ford Mustang.

Pussy magnet @ 16, but a great car if I still had it now.

I regret some of it. ... things I've seen or had happen.

I wish I'd bought the 1972 911S I was offered at a bargain price 7 years ago...

I sort of regret selling my house.

I definitely regret selling my Hiwatt DR103.

I've had them all, well most of them . . .

1967 912
1969 912
1967 911S
1970 914-6
1977 911S

and forgot the rest . . . .

Now I'm out on a farm where having a 1983 Ford F-150 is a big deal!

My wife's father was a Mustang nut, he had a yard full of them. I just gave
a buddy of mine a butt load of his old Mustang junk.

I felt a proper rock star in the 911 the day I got to drive it halfway across the country.

I was somebody, man!

I had a 1967 911S, the baddest of the bad ever built . . .

Long story short . . . I'm surprised I'm still alive.

Two things come to mind.

Late 90's I bought a 1967 Convertible Mustang. It was so awesome. Not fully restored but it wa a look. 289 V8, Holley 4-barrel, and 4 speed shifter. It was my dream car. I sold it several years later to buy my wife's wedding ring. My wife was the right decision, I just wished I had funded it differently.

Second was when I graduated high school in 92', I bought a new lefty Les Paul Custom Cherry Burst with my graduation money. Several years later I sold it to buy an ESP. The LP weighed a ton but it was cool looking.

Honorable mention: The ESP I mentioned was a Custom Horizon made in Japan. Took almost a year to get because it was special order. Nice guitar nut not one of my favorites. It was unique though and I wish I had kept it.
