Since 1980 I also did research into the Luftwaffe in WW2, resulting in writing 8 books, with one of them going to a second, extensively updated, second edition. I've now retired from from that also, although I am still part of an extensive European team assisting an American researcher and author in a project entitled 'Eagles Over Europe'. This project, which will result in several volumes, will cover the air war in Europe from September 1939 to December 1940, and includes all participating nations. My input is on the Messerschmitt 110.

So I take it you've spent some time at the PRO in Kew? Not that they call it the PRO any more...

As a PhD candidate in history I find all of that very interesting.

With regards to the original post I am, as I just said, a PhD candidate in history (modern British and modern European) but that is about to change as I've had enough of it and am ready to jack it in.

History sucks. Just kidding (I'm a PhD candidate in history).

Did you know there is a multi quote button right beside the quote button at the bottom of each post?
Not trying to sound rude, I was just letting you know
It took me a while to figure it out

Hey, Ray, how's it goin'?!

Supa Nick! All's well here- I think we're setting some kind of heat record for the state of Georgia and it's only June. August will be a little on the tough side, I imagine. You doing okay?

Yeah I know, but I was responding to other's posts as I read through the thread for the first time so I just took each one as I came across it.

Yep, was in there on many occasions. It's called the 'National Archive' now.

I have no history qualifications whatsoever.

I've got my National Archives 'Reader's Ticket' in my wallet (along with my card for the British Library and my Oyster card).
