The Stones playing "A hard day's night"

Or

The Beatles playing "Satisfaction"

Well I can't give those, but I can give you The Who playing the Rolling Stones.

The Who

How about Michael Bolton singing 'Piece Of My Heart' or Josh Groban singing 'Whole Lotta Love' or Fine Young Cannibals singing "Crazy Train'.

I'd love to hear Heart cover Big Log by Robert Plant.

The Black Crows or Got Mule could do a great cover of I'm Losing You. I really liked The Faces version.

I heard that Led Zep was a pretty good cover band......so good that the original artists couldn't recognize their own stolen songs :hmm::applause:

Okay, who had ticket 25 in the sweepstake? Anyone? Come and collect your prize if you had #25 in the pool for "How Long Before Someone Trots Out the Led-Zep-Cover-Band-Plagiarism Gag?" You can collect your winnings at the office.

Frankly most of the smart money went earlier than that, so well done the rest of us for showing restraint for twenty-four whole posts

Led Zep doing "Nights In White Satin" would be interesting, or maybe even Kansas.

I'd love to see Motorhead cover the whole Raw Power album and see Iggy and the Stooges cover the whole Ace of Spades album. In my eyes, those are two of the rockingest of the rock albums by two of the rockingest of the rock bands, and I'd love to see how either band approached the others work.

Devo covering "Love Shack"

That would actually be really cool. I like Devo a lot, and only recently found out that they covered Jimi Hendrix's Are You Experienced, and it's a fantastic cover. It's obviously far removed from what Hendrix did, but man was it ever cool.

And no, Slayer does not count, octave lower, fail.
And no, female vocalist does not count either, fail.
